YES...YES...YES...YOU, THE STROKE DISABLED
FEDERAL HOUSING FOR STROKE DISABLED
Below is a link to the U. S. government in regards to housing with
disabilities. If...after a stroke...you are a disabled stroke victim...
you are left with the loss of a major life activity such as walking,
talking, hearing, reading, etc....you have certain rights and should
know what they are.
You can not be discriminated against. Housing providers are required
to make reasonable accommodations for you. You are allowed to
make reasonable requests. Find out what these are at the link below.
Don't feel intimidated and don't feel as though you are not worth it.
You are worth all of it...and more! You deserve to live a comfortable life.
You deserve to take advantage of whatever programs that are
offered to you. You may not have your life that you had prior to
your stroke, but you are starting a new life. Use "every" resource
you can find to help yourself start over with a new beginning.
As I come across different programs in my research, I will add them
to this list. When I get enough, I will add a separate page on resources.
The next section is a start of "state by state" housing information. Most
states follow the Federal Fair Housing laws and many states have
added more bases, so be sure to check out your own state's laws and
programs that they offer to the disabled. Remember, "YOU ARE SOMEBODY"
and "YOU ARE IMPORTANT". You deserve everything you qualify for!
