THE STROKE VICTIM'S
LIFE AFTER STROKE &
STROKE AFTER BRAIN INJURY
Life after a stroke affects people in different ways. It all
depends on the type of stroke, the area of the brain that has
been affected and the timeframe . . . between the time of the stroke
and getting medical help. (DIAL 911 ASAP)
After stroke, brain injury can affect a person's senses, emotions,
speech, eating, loss of perception, vision, loss of awareness,
comprehension or mobility. They could affect just one or a
combination of these. In some cases they could affect all.
A person's brain after stroke needs to be exercised, just as your
body needs to be. It is possible to rewire a brain after stroke . . . think
of re-wiring a house. The brain may need to be re . . . trained and can
take an extremely long time, with much hard work involved. Again,
it all depends on the type of stroke, amount of damage, location of
damage and of course, the stroke victim themselves.
Playing games after a stroke can be very beneficial to a stroke
survivor. There are many brain games on the market these days.
They can aid in a number of ways with memory, thinking, logic,
math skills, and much more.
